The Web Services and Hosting team hosts and maintains agency websites and web-based applications. The team is committed to delivering top-notch hosting solutions, ensuring seamless performance, security, and reliability.
Service Includes
- Website hosting and analytics.
- Assistance with Section 508 accessibility website compliance and remediation
- Website templates and support
- Registering Idaho.Gov URLs
- Domain Name Services (DNS)
- Cybersecurity protection, incident response, and recovery
Prerequisites:
- Ensure that your organization uses hardware and software that are within the established standards and are officially supported. This includes having compatible operating systems, server hardware, and network equipment
- State of Idaho websites are for official state business only
- Websites must be hosted and managed by ITS within the ITS-hosted environment
- Websites must meet ITS hosting standards
What Is Excluded
While we are dedicated to comprehensive support, there are certain exclusions:
- Website content creation and management
- Accessibility remediation for content and/or documents uploaded to the agency’s site
- Photo releases and credits
- Websites hosted and/or managed by a third-party
Customer Responsibility
We believe in a collaborative partnership where both parties share responsibilities. Customers are expected to:
- Agencies can expect to build their site and create/update their site content. ITS has options available to assist state agencies with these services
- Assign Content Manager(s) to update agency website.
- Have a basic understanding of Accessibility and Plain Writing Requirements. Plain Writing is not a requirement for State of Idaho but are useful in writing clearly for the agency website.
- Procure images with releases and assure proper credit for images, as appropriate. WordPress provides guidance on how to appropriately give photo credit. ITS can assist agencies with procuring images from Adobe Stock.

- Request an exemption from Idaho Technology Authority if designing a website without using the standard approved template
To request services:
- ITS-supported agencies: visit servicedesk.idaho.gov to submit a Website Request ticket.
- Non-ITS supported agencies: Complete the Web Services Request form and select the Maintenance option.
