Security Surveillance

ITS maintains, monitors, and supports agency camera security services including internal office buildings, external parking lots, maintenance areas, or anywhere security is a concern. Services are available at agency locations statewide supporting secure access to those needing view and playback video recordings.

ITS conducts a site survey and walkthrough to ensure all areas are covered, according to the agency’s needs.

Service Includes

  • Coordinate installation of the surveillance system to the agency network
  • Conduct site surveys to analyze and ensure adequate camera coverage and capacity is available
  • Troubleshoot and support of the Video Management System (VMS)
  • Maintain VMS servers and user accounts
  • User training to access and manage the VMS

Prerequisites

  • Use ITS-approved and managed VMS, which includes server(s), software, and cameras
  • Contact ITS prior to taking action on a new or upgraded system for recommended VMS, server, and camera standards

What Is Excluded

While we are dedicated to comprehensive support, there are certain exclusions:

  • Non-standard cameras
  • Non-supported VMS systems
  • ITS does not fund the costs for camera security surveillance systems

Customer Responsibility

We believe in a collaborative partnership where both parties share responsibilities. Customers are expected to:

  • Determine who in the agency has permission to “Live View Only” camera footage and who has permission to “Live View and Playback” camera footage
  • Provide funding for hardware, software, and licenses for the initial install
  • Fund additional licensing costs for additional cameras needed or hardware maintenance after the initial install
  • Fund maintenance care through the vendor on a 3- or 5-year maintenance contract
  • Export video for any investigative needs for public records requests, court requests, or management requests
