Over the last two years, ITS has made significant strides with the rollout of the Workspace ONE capabilities to our supported customers.
Recently, ITS renewed the contract with VMware to extend Workspace ONE licensing for three more years, and have increased the license count from 7,000 to 12,000 devices. This should allow sufficient room in the device count to leverage Workspace ONE as the mobile device management (MDM) tool and bring all end-user device management under a single pane of glass.
This provides a more consistent end-user experience and give ITS the ability to truly empower a distributed workforce statewide. Future improvements will include:
- A more comprehensive self-service application catalog for users.
- A migration of device management away from on-prem Active Directory and group policy and into true cloud management.
- Enhanced security and logging configurations that keeps state data safe and secure.
