The timing of my arrival at ITS in July could not have been more unique. Stepping into my role here, just two weeks after the final phase of IT Modernization was wrapped up under the leadership of Alberto Gonzalez, has been exciting and eye-opening.
I am humbled that Governor Little has entrusted me to continue building upon IT consolidation efforts across Idaho. I also want to wish Alberto much success in his new role as Director at the Idaho Transportation Department.
With Health & Welfare now part of ITS as of early June, Governor Little’s vision of prioritizing cybersecurity, efficiency, and delivery in technology support to Idaho agencies has been reached. With the formation of ITS in 2018, the goal has always been to provide technology support across state agencies and improve cybersecurity. This is a HUGE accomplishment.
Now that ITS has entered a period of stabilization, we know there are opportunities for process refinement and enhanced partnership with our customers. There are challenges we are tackling together, from service delivery, managing ever-increasing IT costs, to proactively protecting our state from ever-constant cybersecurity threats.
I am eager to sit down with agency directors and your teams and am actively scheduling those sessions now. We have a lot of work to do as we prepare for the upcoming legislative session.
