UEM Team Highlights

The Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) team has made significant strides in modernizing the state’s IT infrastructure, with a sharp increase in Windows 11 deployments. As of April 11th, the team successfully transitioned 5,097 devices to Windows 11. Just six months later, that number has nearly doubled, reaching 10,025 devices as of October 14th.

The UEM team is also leading the charge in expanding cloud-based device management through Microsoft Intune. Currently, 35 agencies are enrolled in Intune, with 840 devices under management. This platform enables secure, remote management of endpoints, allowing IT teams to enforce policies, deploy applications, and support users more efficiently, especially in hybrid work environments.

Looking ahead, the UEM team expects continued growth. By mid-October, the number of participating agencies is projected to rise to 41, with a total of 1,500 devices managed through Intune. Intune is expected to go live as the primary mobile device management (MDM) solution across all agencies by early December, marking a major milestone in the state’s transition to modern endpoint management.

In addition to deployment efforts, the UEM team is developing a new internal software tool designed to streamline Primary support operations and improve user interactions. The tool will provide quick-access links to the ServiceNow catalog and incident reporting, making it easier for users to find help and submit requests. For technicians, it will offer rapid access to commonly needed device and user information, enabling faster escalations and reducing turnaround time for support teams.
