ITS recognizes employees Chris Davis and Matt Clark from the Infrastructure Team for their work on the North Idaho Correctional Institution (NICI) project. NICI, once a radar station for the U.S. Air Force, has been under the operation of the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) since 1974. This makes it one of the oldest Idaho prisons and houses around 400 inmates.
This location did not have a surveillance system prior to August 2023, when the ITS Security Camera and Access Control team worked with contractors in planning, designing, and installing a more secure prison with a new surveillance system.
This project was very satisfying, as we left NICI feeling like that we id made a positive impact for IDOC staff.
