Operation Cyber Idaho’s mission has aimed to enhance the State of Idaho’s cyber resilience and preparedness in the ever-evolving cyber threat sector. One initiative that helps drive this effort is the week-long cybersecurity vulnerability assessments conducted for agencies, cities, counties, school districts, and other critical infrastructure entities.
ITS had the opportunity to partner with the Idaho Army National Guard (IDARNG), Secretary of State (SOS), and Boise State University (BSU), for Washington County who requested a cybersecurity assessment of their environment. This structured evaluation allowed Washington County to measure their current cybersecurity posture while identifying vulnerabilities, assessing risks, and providing actionable recommendations to improve their defenses.
A new product that was rolled out was also the ITS Risk Assessment developed by the Cyber Governance team. This questionnaire follows a structured methodology to measure an organization’s alignment with the NIST CSF 2.0 framework and align best practices with compliance requirements. As part of the collaboration between ITS, the IDARNG, and BSU, the ITS team is appreciative of Washington County’s leadership for entrusting us to conduct their cybersecurity vulnerability assessment.
