Cybersecurity Assessment of the Month: Department of Juvenile Corrections

With IT Modernization approaching Phase 5, ITS has continued to prioritize cybersecurity, efficiency, and delivery in technology support to those agencies in previous phases. The Department of Juvenile Corrections (IDJC) and Idaho State Police (ISP) will join us during Phase 5.

As part of the strategy and collaboration with IDJC, Idaho Army National Guard (IDARNG), and Boise State University (BSU), ITS was able to conduct a cyber reconnaissance and assessment this month in preparation for IT consolidation. This assessment provided several benefits to both agencies, including identifying potential vulnerabilities, gaining a comprehensive understanding of their network and security posture, enabling proactive threat mitigation, and gathering threat intelligence.

Essentially acting as the foundational step for effective cybersecurity strategy, ITS is appreciative of IDJC allowing the event to take place to help address security gaps before potential attackers could possibly exploit them.
