Customer Service is a Culture

Two photos side by side: on the left, four workers in safety vests and hard hats in a construction area; on the right, five people standing against a plain wall.

As Idaho continues modernizing and consolidating technology services across state government, one theme has become increasingly clear: strong customer service is essential to making statewide IT work.

Our customers are our partners

In a consolidated environment, we support more than 60 state agencies and hundreds of programs that depends on technology to serve Idahoans. By treating agencies as partners, not just requestors, we help them succeed in their missions.

Connecting technology to agency needs

Consolidation brings efficiencies and stronger security, but it can also create distance between IT staff and agency programs. Customer service closes that gap.

ITS works to understand each agency’s mission, challenges, and operational needs. Through agency relationship management, clear communication channels, and a service first mindset, we need to make sure agencies feel supported throughout every interaction.

Responsiveness builds trust

A statewide IT environment generates thousands of service requests. Strong customer service processes help ensure every request is tracked, prioritized, and resolved efficiently.

By using standardized service frameworks, clear expectations, and modern ticketing tools, ITS provides transparency that builds trust.

Better service inside means better service to Idahoans

When internal systems run reliably, agencies can focus on delivering essential services to the public. Whether supporting state infrastructure, licensing portals, public safety applications, and soon to be health systems, our response times and reliability have a direct impact on residents.

Customer service is a culture

Customer service is everyone’s responsibility. This includes:

  • Communicating clearly and professionally
  • Measuring agency satisfaction and acting on feedback
  • Collaborating across ITS teams
  • Building strong relationships with agency partners

Customer service is the backbone of our statewide IT model—helping ensure technology works for every Idahoan.
