Laserfiche Rebuild Complete

Laserfiche logo

We are pleased to announce the successful closure of the Laserfiche Rebuild project, a significant initiative launched in response to a critical infrastructure failure in 2023. Laserfiche services that hosted multiple agencies were impacted.  The Idaho Department of Water Resources was most severely impacted, as the Laserfiche repository was central to their daily operations and service delivery.

Attempts to restore from hard drive were unsuccessful, prompting immediate and strategic action from ITS to not only restore operations, but to modernize our entire Laserfiche environment. Our ITS Application and Hosting team designed and implemented a new enterprise-grade architecture with strong focus on redundancy, resilience, and compartmentalization of agencies services.

Thanks to their expertise and swift execution, the new redundant Laserfiche architecture was setup within two to six months. The Laserfiche development was completed in six months to one year working with agency timelines.  IDWR’s recovery requirements were partnered with external vendor services to fully restore as of late July 2025.  Special recognition to the dedicated experts, John Gonzales and Christine Heimbigner who made this recovery and modernization effort a success.
