ITS was instrumental in supporting the Idaho Department of Lands and its annual Idaho Forestry Content in early May. The gathering brings together students to learn more about forestry and resource management in conjunction with Fish and Game and the University of Idaho. Having been involved for years, Service Delivery Manager Tim Gates was a key coordinator on behalf of ITS.
Part of the contest involves a forestry contest and scoring event. The IT portion of this program was developed by the ITS App Development team, including Mark Davich, along with support from Casey Kawamura. But the IT event support isn’t just a one-day commitment. Throughout the year, the team worked with IDL to vet any bugs in the scoring program and make sure data entry was smooth as part of the competition. ITS was also on scene all day making sure technology worked as it should, while taking a few minutes to enjoy the outdoors and even drive heavy equipment to fell trees (virtually that is).
